With the Butcher’s Block offering freshly cut steaks to order alongside a menu full of seasonal variety, they use 100 day aged grain fed Australian beef – You choose your cut, size and how you’d like it cooked and they will do the rest. Dishes are carefully planned to make sure all the ingredients complement each other perfectly. All their food is freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients where possible. They have brand new lunch and dinner menus, so whether it’s a light bite or a hefty steak you’re after, their menus cater for all appetites.
The Chequers has its own pub within the pub, The Churchill Tap which is a craft ale lovers heaven. This room dates back to the 16th century where the original beams still remain. They have carefully selected their bar range to ensure a wide variety, combining high quality to suit all tastes. They have spirits, beers and wines from all over the world and a great range of cask ales, brewed locally and from further afield.
The pub has nine wonderfully comfy en-suite rooms. There are eight rooms with kingsize beds, and one room with a double bed. Two of the rooms with kingsize beds can also be split into two twin beds when required. All rooms come with beds boasting a feather and black mattress, 26″ mounted TV with digital review, free WiFi, Nespresso coffee machine and kettle with selection of hot drinks and blackout blinds.
