The Boathouse is a charming riverside pub offering great service with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The bar is the perfect spot to relax and unwind with a drink, after a busy day exploring Chester.
Their focus is on ale and they pride themselves on serving the best in the area, including family favourites, as well as limited edition seasonal varieties. Their wine list is also vast and best enjoyed riverside in their suntrap terrace or on the quirky beach hut seating.
Their food is homemade with a selection of pub classics and seasonal daily specials. The puddings are heavenly and there is a dedicated children’s menu for little ones.
Each of their individually designed bedrooms are thoughtfully furnished, including WiFi, Freeview TVs and Tesla charging points on site. Some boast pretty riverside views and they also have a designated dog friendly bedroom.
The Boathouse’s stunning River Dee setting means it is within walking distance of many of the city’s top attractions; Chester Walls, Chester Cathedral and Chester Racecourse are all just a short stroll away from the pub. A little further afield, 12 minutes by car, is Chester Zoo where guests can view over 15,000 animals on display.
This pub is part of JW Lees, a British family brewery since 1828. Established in Middleton, Greater Manchester they have a unique collection of country inns and accommodation throughout the North West of England and Wales.
