The Crown at Bildeston is a beautifully restored coaching inn nestled in the heart of rural Suffolk. The building dates to 1495 and has been an inn since the mid-17th century, with timber beams, open fires and cosy corners sitting comfortably alongside light-filled dining spaces, pretty terraces and beautifully designed bedrooms. Food is a particular highlight. The Crown follows an estate-to-plate ethos, with fruit and vegetables grown in the kitchen gardens at nearby Nedging Hall and game sourced from the estate. Medieval Lavenham, Long Melford, Sudbury and Constable Country are all within easy reach, while country walks begin much closer to home.
