The six bedrooms at The Northumberland Arms bring a little luxury to the traditional pub stay. Each is named after a local landmark and individually styled, combining a muted colour palette with statement furnishings and decorative details. Comfort is given plenty of attention. Every bedroom has a large walk-in shower, along with complimentary robes, spring water, Ringtons tea and luxurious toiletries. Some rooms also feature a freestanding bath, giving guests the option of a long soak after a day walking the coast or exploring Northumberland’s castles. Dogs are welcome on request, with prior acknowledgement in select rooms – additional charges apply.

Come hungry, because food is central to a stay at The Northumberland Arms. The kitchen works with fresh, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, with menus changing regularly to reflect the seasons. Rather than restricting itself to one style, the offering moves comfortably between lighter plates, creative mains and familiar pub favourites. Sundays are devoted to traditional roasts. When the weather cooperates, drinks and dining can move outside to the extended terrace, where tables look towards the River Coquet and the old stone bridge.
