Inside the Eagle and Child you will find a stylish space featuring a fabulous light-filled bar and orangery with wonderful views to Holcombe Moor and the iconic Peel Tower.
The Eagle and Child are passionate about their food. Their meat comes from the Lancashire countryside in particular the Bowland fells and their fish is supplied fresh from Fleetwood. You will also find their own homegrown vegetables in some of the dishes and they have been awarded the title of the ‘Best Food Pub’ at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival awards in recent years.
They serve an eclectic range of good quality cask ales and they work alongside Daniel Thwaites to provide top quality ales including Heritage, their own ale ‘Top Bunk’ and guest and seasonal specials when available. They are on the East Lancs Rail Ale Trail and to complement their tasty grub, they have put together a great value wine list with a selection of great grapes from around the world. They also do their own cocktails, which much like everything they do, are their own twist on classic recipes!
They offer first class accommodation in the form of five lovely boutique ‘Owl’ bedrooms designed with the owls in mind and featuring bespoke artwork by Fran Giffard. All of their bedrooms are en-suite with wet rooms, and two of these rooms are suites with Juliette balconies and fine views overlooking the grassed roof of the Orangery, with those stunning views across the Rossendale Valley to the graceful hills beyond. Each room has a whole host of little luxuries including a complimentary mini-bar and Espresso machine.
Dog friendly accommodation is available in the “Eagle Owl” room for an additional supplement and the Owl suite and Little Owl double/twin room have an adjoining door, making them perfect for families with children or if an elderly relative needs extra support.
The Eagle and Child has nearly an acre of unused garden space, a sizeable area that has allowed them to fit in lots of exciting features including an outdoor kitchen, polytunnel, vegetable beds, compost beds, fruit shrubs and ornamental beds, mini orchard with chickens and children’s area. The garden is a working allotment project, landscaped so you can enjoy eating and drinking amongst their home grown fruit and vegetables.
