The White Lion is home to excellent beers and ciders, superb food with fine wines, a cosy bar with open fire, an elegant restaurant and a large beer garden. The first thing that you’ll notice when you come into the pub is that it’s exactly how a great pub should be. Nothing fits and nothing’s normal – from the wonky flagstone floors to the even wonkier walls. Thatcher’s are the mainstay ciders, both Gold and traditional dry, from a Somerset based family company that have been making great cider for over 100 years. The real ales they currently offer are Ruddle’s Best or Otter Amber.
The chefs have put together an imaginative and varied menu to suit all tastes so there will always be something you can’t resist. As they’re lucky enough to be in Dorset where some of the best farmers produce the greatest food, they always find the tastiest fresh, local produce to use in the menus. Let them do the hard work to bring the finest the county has to offer straight to your table.
Due to popular demand they have three beautifully appointed double rooms so that you can stay with them for longer. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities and a television. Whether on business and just needing a bed for the night, looking for a relaxing weekend away exploring the area, or having spent too much time enjoying the scrumpy then come and stay with them and enjoy their hospitality to the fullest. A splendid cooked breakfast in the morning is of course a guaranteed part of the deal.
