The Saracen’s Head Inn is steeped in history and character and was built using timbers from old ships. The building surrounds a central courtyard which was originally a travellers coaching inn. They are situated just a stone’s throw away from the fashionable shops and boutiques in the High Street of Amersham Old Town. They believe that a pub should be a friendly relaxing place to enjoy a drink with friends and strangers and to eat good honest, unpretentious food.
The bar is traditionally styled with large exposed beams and has a lovely large open log fireplace. They serve a good selection of real ales and an extensive range of wines from around the world. They also offer cappuccinos, lattes and espressos along with regular coffee and tea.
Their in-house chef uses the best and where possible local suppliers for the ingredients. All food is freshly prepared and cooked daily. They have an extensive menu along with a daily specials board and Sunday roasts. They believe the combination of traditional food and relaxed ambience makes The Saracen’s Head Inn a truly traditional English pub.
The pub is home to 11 bedrooms: 2 doubles, 7 twins and 2 singles all with en-suite facilities. All rooms have their own TV, tea and coffee making facility, mini fridge and free WiFi. A delicious cooked breakfast is available in the morning. Rooms are tastefully furnished in keeping with the tradition of the pub and one of them boasts a magnificent hand-carved mahogany four-poster bed. The ground floor accommodation overlooks either the courtyard or the garden.
