This family owned pub was granted grade II listed status by Historic England recently and is a place of special significance. The Rose and Crown was designed for Truman’s Brewery by the highly respected pub architect A.E. Sewell. It lies adjacent to the 13th Century St. Mary’s Church, and proudly overlooks Clissold Park and fashionable Stoke Newington Church Street, with its eclectic mix of boho shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.
This pub is an old world oaky affair with a giant bay window from which to view the hustle and bustle of Church Street, with a more intimate snug area where you can enjoy a glass of mulled wine whilst relaxing beside a real log fire. Real ales and ciders are served along with an extensive wine list, nicely balanced between old and new world. Bar snacks and meals are freshly prepared throughout the day with a traditional roast served for sunday lunch.
Their guest house comprises of 7 charming bedrooms. Each room has been individually designed, however they still retain many of their historic, original features. Bedrooms are spacious, beautifully presented and come complete with their own en-suite bathroom. A continental breakfast is served daily from 7.30 and is included in your stay. They provide cereals, yogurts and locally baked bread and pastries.
Their heated roof terrace is available to all guests and is a great way to relax and enjoy the fabulous views across London.
