The interior of the New Inn is a blend of traditional and contemporary with lots of characterful touches and plenty of style. The roaring fires in the wood-burners keep away the winter chill and, in the summer, the gorgeous garden next to the village waterfall is a peaceful spot in which to enjoy a drink. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar area where their owners can enjoy a myriad of locally brewed ales and beers as well as an extensive gin list.
The menu is packed full of firm pub favourites such as steak and ale pie and belly of pork. The kitchen uses locally reared or grown ingredients and keeps things seasonal allowing the flavours to be presented at their peak. Alongside the menu, there are a number of daily specials and, if you have a special occasion you wish to celebrate, then speak to the team about private dining options.
There are 19 rooms at the New Inn, all of which are decorated in muted and soothing tones to help give you a fantastic night’s sleep. A couple of the rooms are dog friendly, just check when booking, and all come with boot trays for wet wellies. For those who wish to get and explore as quickly as possible in the morning, early breakfasts can be arranged, as can packed lunches to keep the energy levels high.
Clapham is a ‘three peaks village’ and therefore has direct walking access to the summit of Ingleborough. As you can imagine, the area is extremely popular with walkers and cyclists who come to explore and delight in the magnificent Dales. If you enjoy a more sedate pace, the Settle & Carlisle steam railway is just a few miles away.
