Known locally as a bit of a gem, the New Inn offers excellent food, good value and comfortable accommodation alongside ales so local, they’re brewed out the back. The dog-friendly pub has a relaxed and informal atmosphere, helped by the obliging and approachable team who are there to ensure that you have the best possible time under their roof. If you’re an ale lover, then book a tour at the brewery where you’ll be shown around by a knowledgeable guide, and then head back to the bar to enjoy a glass or two of the result.
The menu majors on home-cooked, locally sourced produce all served either in the elegant restaurant or in the village bar and conservatory. There’s a good children’s menu available and we hear that the Yorkshire pudding wraps are a popular bet for lunch.
There are 9 en-suite double rooms, each of which come with everything you’ll need for a comfortable night. A couple of the bedrooms are dog friendly so, if you’re in the area with your faithful four-legged friend, then they can stay with you for a small, additional fee. The pub also has its own holiday cottage available to rent as well as allowing camping in the summer months.
Cropton is located on the edge of the North York Moors offering excellent opportunities for walking and cycling. Should you be travelling with your family then Flamingo Land, which is only a few miles away, is guaranteed to thrill and delight. Also a short drive away is the North Yorkshire Moors Railway where you can enjoy the splendour of the surrounding scenery by steam train.
