The Mitre Inn serves traditional country fayre and the ingredients used in their delicious, selective menu is locally sourced whenever possible. They have fresh fish delivered three times a week and during the summer they grow some of their own vegetables. Their menus consists of homemade soups and snacks and a selection of traditional hearty dishes such as home cooked ham, egg and chips, pies and steaks.
During colder months there are two wood burning stoves which makes their bar and dining room a cosy place to relax whilst in the summer their picturesque garden provides elevated views across the valley.
The Mitre Inn have two comfortable en-suite bedrooms and your stay includes a traditional cooked English breakfast as well as fruit, cereal and yoghurt. Guests can also help themselves to the tea and coffee making facilities provided. The pub itself is dog friendly, however dogs are not allowed to stay in their bedrooms although their new Shepherds Hut which has a queen size and wood burning stove will accept your well behaved pooches.
Two national footpaths pass through the village as well as a national cycle route and The Jurassic Coast, Stonehenge and Longleat Wildlife Park are all approximately a one hour’s drive away.
