They serve an inventive menu of seasonal and home grown produce in a fun and eclectic setting, all helped along nicely with fine wines and local ales. They have been included in the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide and have been awarded two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, as well as being rated a 5* inn.
Their intimate dining room designed in collaboration with artists, The Connor Brothers, is a cosy spot for some good old-fashioned indulgence. The chef’s focus is all about rummaging through nature’s larder, be it foraging for wild mushrooms, flowers and herbs, growing their own fruit and veg in the garden or sourcing the very best local meat and dairy suppliers, their menu is an ode to the Oxfordshire countryside. Open Monday to Saturday, reservations are essential.
Their pub downstairs is a cosy all-day spot for relaxing by the fire with a local ale, glass of wine or with a coffee and the paper in one of their squashy armchairs. They also serve a casual menu of bar snacks and pub classics for lunch and dinner.
All of their stunning en-suite bedrooms are located in their 16th Century farmhouse-turned-pub or the surrounding outbuildings, and are decorated in an English bohemian style. Rooms include free WiFi, flat screen TV, organic Bramley toiletries, Roberts DAB radio and mini fridge stocked with local goodies. One of their Farmhouse Loft rooms is dog friendly, so do let them know if you’d like to bring your canine friend! There will be a £20 charge per dog, per night, with dog bowl & treats included.
