The Kings Head is a traditional stone brick pub and behind the bar there’s plenty of premium lagers and cask ales to choose from. The guest ales are constantly changing but the regular favourites always remain. There’s also an extensive wine list which is often paired to the menu for a fine dining experience.
The pub specialise in meals created from fresh and locally sourced produce all year round. With a varied menu from pub classics with a twist to a taste of fine dining, fish dishes include trout and salmon from the nearby River Vyrnwy. There’s also a hearty continental breakfast to wake up to in the morning.
The Kings Head has eight ensuite bedrooms in total, with one of these suitable for families and larger groups. Focusing on creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere, each room has a traditional feel with some modern amenities; freeview TVs, tea and coffee making facilities and free WiFi are included. Pets are also more than welcome, with dog friendly bedrooms available.
Set in the centre of Meifod Village, The Kings Head is a great place to come and stay to explore this beautiful and historic area. The pub is within walking distance of the River Vyrnwy and some great trout and salmon fishing is available through local Farms. The castles of Mathrafal and Powis are both within six miles of the pub, too.
