The Ilchester Arms is a family run rustic pub and restaurant with rooms – the passion is to provide fantastic food at an affordable price, wrapped up in a comfortable and stimulating environment. Whether you choose to have a cider and snack by the fire, a home made afternoon tea after a country walk or a freshly caught sea bass supper, they’ve created nibbles through to informal a la carte dining for all occasions. Well behaved dogs on leads are also very welcome – please ask about their pet-friendly bedrooms.

The butchers, fish, vegetable and cheese suppliers are all local companies, hand-picked for their quality, and with seasonal menus they use the freshest ingredients all year round. Menus have been designed to work with every budget – from lighter, home-made bar snacks and staple ‘hearty favourites’ through to the rustic a la carte seafood and steak dinners. They also offer breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas.
The characterful circular bar at The Ilchester Arms is the ultimate setting in which to enjoy one of their 40+ hand-picked wines, real ales, draft ciders, local beers and liqueurs. They also have plenty of delightful non-alcoholic beverages, serving superior barista style coffee, ‘The Gilded Teapot’ teas and freshly blended smoothies and juices, plus quality bar nibbles and home-made snacks.
The pub boasts 9 splendid rooms. All rooms are very comforting & offer a relaxed peaceful environment. Some rooms offer large baths, cinema experience TVs, lounges and lovely outside views. All rooms have Egyptian cotton linen & Hypoallergenic pillows. The hotel houses a large library of local & quirky books, interesting & comical DVDs, and displays the artwork of Abbotsbury’s finest artists.
