A typical 18th century coaching inn, the public bar is the heart of the Frog. Entering the Frog through the main door, visitors are immediately greeted by a large roaring fire (throughout the winter months), which is surrounded by leather and oak seating. Oak beams, bar and floorboards combined with colourful textiles create a feeling that can be best described as traditional, warm and classic. There’s a well-stocked bar, friendly bar staff and importantly, because the Frog is a freehouse, varying specials of beer, wine and spirits are also on offer.
Including the food, the fabulous dining rooms are one of the main reasons customers visit over and over. Housed in a period building, dating back some 300 years, the interior design cleverly highlights the building’s history and yet remains quite contemporary at the same time. Both rooms however, are suited to dining at any time of the day. They have tables of varying sizes and can therefore accommodate any sized group be it large or small. For those that require calm and privacy, they will always try their hardest to find a table to suit your requirements.
The food and menu at the Frog is of the highest quality. They have worked hard on developing relationships with local suppliers and much of the food is created using seasonal local produce. Fresh Sea Bass, Hake, Pollock and Lobster are often on the menu. They cater for vegetarians with varied and interesting choices. The desserts and puddings at the Frog are wonderful.
They have three bedrooms available at the Frog, all of which have en-suite facilities, and whilst two of the rooms have shower facilities please be aware one of the rooms has a bath only. Each room has a television and window views of the valley. Included in the room rate is the fantastic Frog breakfast.
