They are located directly opposite Bootham Bar, one of four main gatehouses, which medieval visitors passed to gain access to the City of York.
They serve hearty pub classics and a popular Sunday roast, which can be enjoyed in the pub, conservatory, or al fresco in the summer months. Their garden, which has heated gazebos in the winter, has in the past been crowned ‘Courvoisier Beer Garden of the Year’ thanks to its glorious flowers and foliage.
Their charasmatic bar serves the finest Yorkshire cask ales, international premium lagers, an eclectic range of wines, and artisan spirits.
The Exhibition has six en-suite double bedrooms ranging from economy to deluxe rooms. Two rooms have an additional single bed on request and are suitable for families. Each room comes with complimentary toiletries, a hairdryer, TV, and WiFi access.
At weekends they ask for a minimum booking of two nights.
They serve a full English breakfast and there is parking for overnight guests.
York is often voted one of the best places to visit in England and was recently named the best place to live in the North and North East by The Sunday Times.
