Originally built as stables and kennels for the pets of local gentry and students of Oxford University, The Dog House is enjoying its new life as a lovingly converted rural pub with hotel-style rooms. Full of character and charm, the pub has a traditional bar, with an original wood-beamed ceiling, a roaring fire and a patio. Food is available to order from the bar or in the restaurant and can be enjoyed in the pub’s conservatory.
At The Dog House, the kitchen team have created menu full of pub classics, from sizzling steaks and succulent burgers to lighter bites, all freshly cooked and using local produce. In winter, get cosy in front of an open fire and in the warmer weather, enjoy their large beer garden and covered terrace, but no matter the season, you can always enjoy a distinctive real ale or glass of fine wine.
Whether visiting the area on business or leisure, The Dog House has 20 tastefully decorated and furnished rooms, designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. All rooms come with a whole host of luxuries and there’s also the option to wake up to a delicious full English or continental breakfast in the morning.
The Dog House also offers dog friendly accommodation. Please contact the pub prior to booking if you intend to bring along your four-legged friend.
