The pub was built in the early 1800’s and retains much of its Georgian charm, but with modern facilities to cater for tourists, locals and business people alike. The Crown stands in the heart of Ryde’s town with plenty of small shops as well as well known high street stores to choose from. Ryde is known as the gateway to the Isle of Wight and The Crown is within 5 minutes walking distance from the Southern Vectis Bus Station, Wightlink’s Fastcat, and Hover Craft which takes only 10 minutes to get from Southsea to Ryde.
There is a traditional circular bar, which is the centre of the ground floor, where they serve 9 different draft lagers. a selection of quality wines and a good selection of real ales. Their menu boasts all your favourite pub classics which you can enjoy in the pub or outside in their gardens. During summer months you can enjoy the sunshine and watch the hustle and bustle of Union Street pass you by in the outside seating area or enjoy peace and tranquillity in the courtyard garden at the rear.
The beautiful Ryde sands are just at the bottom of union street and meander round the coast towards Bembridge, with fantastic beaches, parks, children’s play areas and cafes. Ryde offers everything you could wish for, with every seaside amenity on offer.
