Being one of only five properties in this small hamlet, on a table of land some 1300 feet above sea level, The Barrel Inn proudly claims to be the highest pub in Derbyshire. The pub serves a fine selection of well kept real ales, fine wines and delicious, freshly cooked, mostly locally sourced food, every day. Old worldly charm fill the pub with a peaceful oak-beamed bar, real log fires, flagstone floors, beamed ceilings and polished copper and brass. The pub has been lovingly restored to retain and enhance the overall charm and friendliness of the Inn. Seating on the front terrace on good days is very popular whilst relaxing having a drink and something to eat.
It’s panoramic views of the majestic Hope Valley and the Peak District National Park are magnificent and on a clear day you are able to enjoy views over five counties. The Barrel Inn has five, luxury, en-suite bedrooms offering the perfect location for a relaxing break and an excellent base for those spending time, on holiday, walking or cycling through the beautiful Peak District. Each room is furnished to a high standard to ensure a relaxing comfortable stay.
