The Anchor Inn at Ivybridge is ideally situated a stones throw from the Dartmoor National Park and is the perfect base for exploring one of the UK’s most stunning landscapes. They are also just on the edge of the glorious South Hams with it’s array of wonderful beaches and coastal paths. If you want to hit the shops or take in a show, then the city of Plymouth is just twenty minutes away.
The Anchor still has a number of original features including exposed beams, stone walls, wooden floors and even the outdoor pub sign.
If you just want a bite to eat, then their restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Their menu, is delicious, seasonal and uncomplicated – a real gastro treat. They serve classical dishes with a modern twist and produce is locally sourced with the beef for example coming from a farm just 5 miles away and the fish from Plymouth which is just 16 miles away. Their menu’s changes seasonally and they offer a traditional Sunday roast every Sunday and breakfast is served every day between 8am and 10am. Their welcoming pub has an open fire, local ales, a great wine list and a friendly atmosphere and you can choose to prop up at the bar or sit down on the comfy chairs by the fire with a pint. They also have oak tables, chairs and window seats to sit down and have a pub lunch with friends, and a flat screen TV if there’s an important match on.
The Anchor Inn at Ivybridge have ten great bedrooms available – six are in the main inn and there are four cabins, situated in the court yard. Rooms can be booked on a bed and breakfast basis, and each room has a whole host of little luxuries to help you enjoy your stay including very comfortable beds, flat screen TV’s and gorgeous en-suite bathrooms with showers or baths.

If you are bringing the family, they have extra beds for children available for an additional £15 per night and they also have a couple of travel cots should you need one of these.
Many of their rooms are dog friendly and your dog will be provided with a bed, towel and bowls. Four legged friends are also welcome in the bar area, so if you wish you can choose to enjoy your meals there – they even sell Snuffle dog beer. Dogs are charged at £10 per stay.
