Details

The Castle Inn is a traditional 16th Century thatched pub with rooms, serving up locally sourced food and regularly changing local real ales and ciders.

This beautiful old pub is minutes from the iconic Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door of the Jurassic Coastline and surrounded by the Isle of Purbeck countryside. West Lulworth is a traditional Dorset fishing village and an ideal base to enjoy the Jurassic Coast. With thatched cottages dating back over 400 years and pretty, former coastguard houses, West Lulworth is steeped in history and used to be a smugglers haunt. Being the closest village to Lulworth Cove, it is hugely popular with visitors due to the unspoilt beaches, fantastic walking opportunities and geological interests.

The pub dates back to the 16th century and has changed names many times during its history. It has been known as both the Green Man and the Traveller's Rest at various points. It is currently named after the early 17th century hunting lodge Lulworth Castle, situated in East Lulworth.

The Castle Inn boasts a varied menu jam packed with delicious dishes. Choose from Butcombe beer battered fish & chips, shortcrust pasty pies or Honey and Ashton Press cider roasted ham enjoyed with a pint of local ale or cider. If you're visiting with a group of friends or family their Poughmans sharers are perfect to nibble on while you catch up by the fire.

The twelve en-suite bedrooms at The Castle Inn provide the perfect base to explore the Dorset coast. All the rooms include little luxuries to ensure a relaxing stay and the inn's warm welcome will bring you back time and time again.
