Busy Pubs, There’s Lots Going On At Stay In A Pub!

Welcome to 2017! We hope business was good for you over the festive period and long may that continue into the new year.

At Stay In A Pub, we are all geared up for 2017 and our ongoing promotion of the pub accommodation sector:

Pubs With Accommodation Report 2017:

Stay In A Pub have commissioned a report on pubs with accommodation as a follow up to a similar one in 2013 to identify trends within this sector over the past few years and to provide vital marketing insight for the industry.

Key findings include:

  • The number of pubs with rooms has risen 4% despite a declining overall pub market
  • Customers would rather stay in a pub (48%) than a branded hotel (27%), and this has risen from 41%
  • The number of pubs using an online booking system has risen by 22%
  • 65% of customers prefer to book their accommodation online
  • 56% of pubs that have added accommodation since 2013 have seen a positive impact on other revenue streams such as food and drink
  • These figures are very encouraging for the pub accommodation market. Stay In A Pub will be working to promote the industry to both the trade and consumer press.

Profitable Beds Seminar 2017:

Stay In A Pub are hosting a Profitable Beds Seminar in London on Tuesday 14th March. It is designed to help increase revenue and improve operations. The seminar will cover how to maximise profitability, manage guest reviews and convert and retain bookings.

Visit England:

We have enjoyed a very fruitful partnership with Visit England allowing us to promote pubs on their website to inbound tourists. Over the past year, 10% of our bookings have come from foreign visitors, from as far away as Australia. Visit England research also shows that visiting a pub is one of the top three activities visitors to the UK would like to experience, making this partnership the perfect platform to reach this market.

BBPA/ALMR 2017 PR Programme:

We are working with our strategic partners, the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR) and the British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA), on a promotional calendar for the year. This will include events that will drive customers into booking pub accommodation and allow us to highlight the Stay In A Pub website and feature a number of our pubs.

Our New Pubs:

With hundreds of new pubs designed and added, 2016 was a record year for Stay In A Pub. We are continually improving our website and this has included the addition of the ‘Our New Pubs’ section. All of our new pubs will feature here initially and are welcomed via our social media platforms. Our monthly consumer newsletter provides a selection of these new additions along with seasonal events.

2016 has seen the number of customers using our website more than double, rounding off a successful year.

Gift Tokens:

Our gift tokens continue to prove extremely popular with consumers. As we continue to promote them on our website, on social media, and other various marketing channels. These are designed to encourage consumers to book breaks at pubs listed on our website and more details can be found here.
