There’s so many things to do in Buckinghamshire. From the picturesque countryside to the quaint villages and towns, the county is full of beauty and charm. Immortalised in the long running popular TV series Midsomer Murders, Buckinghamshire is a great place to holiday.

Buckinghamshire is home to many stately homes and has the most National Trust properties in England. Claydon House, Hughenden and Ascott House are popular days out, where visitors can enjoy a walk through the impressive grounds and gardens as well as seeing their lavish interiors and style.

A must see in Buckinghamshire is the impressive Waddeson Manor, a 19th century mansion built in the style of a French Renaissance Château. There are stunning walks and opportunities to view the regions impressive architecture in numerous established walks throughout Buckinghamshire. Cliveden or the world renowned gardens at Stowe are favourites with tourists.

Buckinghamshire is home to two museums of world renowned author Roald Dahl. Located in Ayelsbury and Great Missenden, there’s so much to discover about the county that inspired Dahl. Literary lovers can also visit a Flora Thompson exhibition at the Buckingham Old Gaol. There’s plenty of galleries too, including The Stanley Spencer Gallery and The Bucks Open Studios, host to one of the biggest English arts events of the year.

Buckinghamshire is a perfect place to go walking. With miles and miles of footpaths and National trails. The Chilterns is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty so what better way to explore this magnificent region than on foot.

Buckinghamshire has many attractions and events that make a great family holiday or weekend away. You can choose from a trip to the Chiltern Open Air Museum, Hell-Fire Caves or for train enthusiasts big and small, the Bekonscot Model Village and Railway, makes for a memorable day out.

Why not enjoy the majestic Buckinghamshire countryside taking a steam engine ride on the the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway. The Grebe Canal Cruise also makes for a peaceful way to experience the 200 year old Grand Union Canal.
