Cairngorms National Park

Discover the beautiful Cairngorms National Park in northeast Scotland. The area is a natural playground for walking pursuits, watersports, snowsports and cycling. Cairngorms National Park is also popular amongst keen golfers, as it has 12 golf courses available.

The rugged terrain and wild landscape means that the National Park has some amazing scenery, from high mountains, heather moorlands to majestic forests. The villages and towns in the National Park have various paths and trails, which allow visitors to explore all areas of the Park and learn about the history of the different communities in and around Cairngorms.

For those who prefer to explore the ancient history and heritage of the area, visit Ruthven Barracks, near Kingussie. This is where the Highland army gathered in 1746 after the battle of Culloden.  Braemar Castle is an iconic landmark in the heart of Cairngorms National Park and a popular place to visit for tourists. It is furnished with memorabilia, ornate furniture and personal belongings of the Farquharson family. Visitors can hear about the characters who have called thie castle home or request a personal guided tour of the grounds and enjoy the views across the River Dee to the Cairngorms.
