A warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere awaits you at the Black Horse Hotel. The bar offers a cosy ambience as well as a wide range of beers and spirits, including a fantastic selection of real ales as well as an extensive choice of gins. Their newly refurbished dining room offers a lovely setting to enjoy their freshly cooked homemade dishes. Choose from their delicious pub favourites menu, where all the dishes are created using locally sourced ingredients.
All of their bedrooms have a comfy bed, flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and an ensuite bathroom. They have an option of single, double or twin accommodation and the pub would like to make guests aware that noise from the bar can sometimes be heard in the twin room on the weekend.
The Black Horse Hotel is located in Newton Stewart and the surrounding area is rich in history and archaeology. The area has often been described as ‘Scotland in miniature’ with its rugged mountains, rolling countryside, coastal cliffs and secluded beaches and bays. The pub is a great base from which to explore the beautiful area. The town is on the edge of the magnificent Galloway Forest Park with the world-famous 7Stanes mountain biking trails, the closest being Kirroughtree, less than five miles away. There’s also plenty of excellent fishing very close by on the rivers Cree (which runs through Newton Stewart), the Bladnoch and the Tarff and many golf courses nearby.
