Royal Forest of Dean image

The Forest itself is underlain by a complex network of caves and caverns, making underground exploration a unique experience, while overground you can try mountain boarding, quad biking, off-road driving and archery. For those with a head for heights, there are superb high wire adventure courses set within beautiful woodlands, plus the area boasts one of the country's top inland diving centres.

The Forest is perfect for cyclists. The Family Cycle Path runs through the heart of the Forest, safely away from traffic, while a dedicated off-road area behind Pedalabikeaway Cycle Hire is popular with mountain bikers.

There are some fantastic walks to be had through the Forest, to find out more, see the Forest of Dean's website and for more information and on the group walks available.
