Positioned in the peaceful Cotswold village of Amberley, the National Trust owned Minchinhampton Common provides the hilltop backdrop and enviable views across the spectacular Cotswolds countryside. Built in 1855, the historic inn retains all it’s charm and atmosphere, with original oak panelled rooms and parquet flooring, stone mullioned windows and roaring log fires. The Amberley Inn take huge pride in their restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner for their guests with a menu full of tasty local produce.
They have 13 newly refurbished and comfortable bedrooms, each with their own individual character and some with views overlooking the spectacular Woodchester Valley. Five of the bedrooms, including the garden suite, with its own sitting room, are located in the adjacent garden house reached through their delightful hotel garden.
This pub is very dog friendly with bedrooms that dogs are welcome to stay in for a nominal fee, you just need to notify the pub in advance. Surrounded by fantastic walks and common land, they think it would be a real pity to leave your four-legged chum at home. Your dog is also welcome to join you for breakfast, lunch and dinner in their lounge bar.
They are just three miles down the road from Stroud and also within a short drive from Cheltenham and Cirencester. From the weekly farmers’ markets to the Arboretum and quaint Cotswold villages, there is always plenty do in Stroud and the surrounding areas. They are also very popular with walkers and cyclists enjoying the surrounding rolling hills.
