Come and explore the Yorkshire Dales and then head home to the beautiful village of Malham and enjoy all this historic inn offers in great food, cosy accommodation and award-winning cask ales.

For location alone, this traditional coaching inn is a fell walker’s paradise, but for those with a serious passion for food in a traditional Yorkshire setting you won’t be disappointed.

There is history to be found both outside and inside the inn. Outside is the traditional mounting block where riders would climb onto their horses, inside you will find original fireplaces, wooden floors and beams. Enjoy the expansive menu while cosied up in one of the little nooks. The menu is a celebration of locally sourced in-season ingredients from trusted Yorkshire suppliers, all home cooked by their talented Chef. And to wash down your hearty dinner take a pick from the extensive range of award winning cask ales.

After a long day exploring the Yorkshire Dales, you can return to a cosy en-suite room and enjoy all the comforts of home. There are 15 rooms to choose from at the inn, all with beautiful views overlooking the village green or the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park. Additionally, To ensure a comfortable night sleep, your room is filled with the little details that make it a home away from home; complimentary Wi-Fi in the bar and lounge, tea and coffee making facilities, comfortable beds, en-suite bathroom and complimentary toiletries.

Alternatively the newly re-developed Lister Barn might be the perfect place for you if you have a group requirement. The Barn is just 40 paces from the pub over the beck. All 8 rooms are beautifully furnished with many original features, including beams in some. The Barn offers both character rooms and feature rooms, which are larger and some have patio doors opening on to the terrace at the front of the barn. At the heart of the barn is a shared lounge where guests can gather and relive the day’s adventures in front of the cosy log burner. There’s secret garden for summer days and evenings too, and a ready supply of board games to keep all ages occupied. 

To awaken you from your slumber a hearty English breakfast is served in the morning, so enjoy the finest Yorkshire sausage, egg and bacon to start you off for the day.

This pub is doggy friendly in rooms and the barn itself, there's even an outdoor shower to wash muddy paws post walks too.
Dogs are more than welcome at The Lister Arms for just a small fee of £15 per stay, of which 10% is donated to the SARDA (Search and Rescue Dog Association). If you plan on taking your pet along, please let The Lister Arms know at the time of booking.
