Details

The Crown & Anchor is set in the quintessential English village of Ramsbury offering comfortable accommodation and delicious food and drink.

Running through Ramsbury is the picturesque Kennet river. The Crown & Anchor has two very well appointed double on suite rooms, named after the Kennet & Avon. The Kennet room has the benefit of a large leather sofa bed. This comes into its own for family's with up to two children.

There will always be a very warm reception waiting for you at The Crown & Anchor and the breakfasts are the talk of the village. We pride ourselves on the quality of the real ale, lagers and ciders we serve at the Crown & Anchor. The owner, Ray Penny used to be a master brewer having founded the Wickwar brewery in Gloucestershire. As you’d expect from a freehouse, quality and variety are the key and guest beers are always available. The main bar has a traditional English charm while the snug has a warm relaxing atmosphere.

All of our dishes are made fresh everyday on the premises. The Crown & Anchor offers both regular and seasonal special offers on meals. So whether it's a traditional Sunday roast or a fabulous fish and chip supper on a Friday, you're welcome to sample our traditional pub hearty fare.

Saturday & Sunday Breakfast Club - Enjoy a traditional Full English breakfast (or just tea and toast) and receive a loyalty card stamp. Then collect nine loyalty stamps and you'll receive your tenth breakfast, Full English or tea and toast free. And don't forget to ask for a free coffee or tea 'top up'.

2016 has barely begun and already some great bands have been booked. Look out for more live music here at the Crown & Anchor. The village Quiz Night takes place every Sunday from 8.30pm when we raise money for Prospect Hospice. Acoustic night is every Thursday evening. Come along and join a group of like-minded folk for a sing and play along from 8.30pm.

Traditional pub games and entertainment may be disappearing in other establishments. But here at the Crown & Anchor the fun continues. We play darts most Mondays and you can even play shove halfpenny, table skittles and Scrabble.
