Details

The traditionally thatched building dates back to the 18th century. We offer an environment where you can eat top quality food, drink in relaxed surroundings or stay in one of our comfortable rooms.

We have 6 newly refurbished en-suite rooms. We have 2 family rooms and an extra cot is available. Cats and dogs are happily accepted. Included in the room rate is a full English breakfast. We charge £10 for each dog that stays with us.

At The Shears Inn our emphasis is on local fresh ingredients so our menu changes regularly to reflect what's in season. We source our meat locally and our fish is delivered fresh daily from the south coast. Everything on our menu is prepared to order and we want our guests to enjoy the freshest food possible. Please note the bar and restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings.

Our comfortable restaurant boasts stripped wooden floor boards and old beams. It is air-conditioned for summer and has a large open fire permanently lit in winter. There is also a sunny garden terrace where meals can be taken ‘al-fresco’.
