The Crown at Stoke-by-Nayland is a traditional vintage Inn and privately-owned boutique hotel.

They have built an enviable reputation from their commitment to providing friendly service, luxurious accommodation and delicious food, wine and real ales.

The staff at The Crown are passionate about what they do. This commitment to providing exemplary service helps to ensure that every aspect of your stay with them is a comfortable one. This focus on providing an exceptional experience to all their guests continues in the restaurant where they offer quality food and, attentive, yet relaxed service.

The Crown is the perfect place to dine where you can relax and enjoy some stunning food in beautiful surroundings. Whether you are enjoying a light lunch with friends or Sunday dinner with the whole family you can dine from a diverse menu with something to suit every taste.

There is something exciting about sampling new and rare wines at The Crown Inn's Restaurant. Doing just that has added another dimension, rarely found elsewhere.
They have a loyal following of discerning customers who simply want to experience some of the best drinking wines available today. They can offer over 30 by the glass from a personally compiled collection of over 250 bins, at reasonable prices, with or without food.

Their very own Wine Shop features wines from around the world that can be drunk during your visit or taken away: Magnums of Chateau Talbot, Henschke’s Hill of Grace, a plethora of Red and White Burgundies – Leflaive, Sauzet, Lafon to name but a few – scarce in many top restaurants! All are knowledgeably looked after but without all the pretension often associated with wine – just simply and lovingly served, and then enjoyed.

The Crown opened its own boutique Hotel in 2008. Situated separately and to the rear of the pub, you will find 11 luxuriously appointed bedrooms, all en suite and with every attention to detail. The atmosphere is one of effortless style and the emphasis is on comfort and excellent service. Designed in sympathy with the beautiful surroundings, the Hotel feels as fresh and new as the day it opened.

Bedrooms on the ground floor are contemporary in design whilst the rooms upstairs are furnished in a country home style with traditional iron bedsteads. All have King size or Super King size beds with luxury pocket sprung mattresses. Three rooms have French windows opening on to their own terrace. Rooms are rated Standard, Superior, Deluxe and Executive . All have en-suite bathrooms with stylish fittings. One room has disabled facilities with a level wet room.

Whether you are craving a traditional English breakfast or fancy trying something a little different, you can start your morning in relaxed surroundings at the Crown Inn. Their breakfast menu has something to suit everyone from classic bacon & eggs to favourites such as French toast and Eggs Benedict.

If you are looking to start your day in a healthier way, they offer a choice of delicious fruit salads, smoothies and freshly squeezed juice. They also carry a range of traditional pastries which can be served with locally-sourced preserves and a ‘light start’ menu for those with a smaller appetite.
