The White Hart, situated in Somerton’s market place, is a 16th century pub with food and drink at its heart. Offering 8 modern rooms, the Inn is a perfect base from which to explore Somerset.
We're a pub first and foremost. Everyone's welcome - children, dogs (although not in the bedrooms, except by prior arrangement), grandparents and you are as welcome to come in just for a drink as to eat. Great bar snacks fresh from the kitchen are available all day. We have free Wi-Fi, newspapers and warm fires when it's cold. We take our beer very seriously indeed and we're surrounded by some exceptional beer and cider makers.
Each of our 8 en-suite rooms is unique and designed to provide a cosy haven. Take a look at our floor plan for pictures and details. The 3 rooms at the front overlook Market Place and the beautiful 13th Century Church of St Michael and All Angels. We also have 2 smaller rooms in the centre of the building which, whilst not enjoying the same views, are furnished to the same high standard as the other rooms. The 3 rooms at the rear overlook either the courtyard or garden.
Each room has a generous king or super king size bed, crisp Egyptian linen and eclectic furniture. Some rooms can be used as twins and we can also squeeze in children in an extra z bed or cot.
All rooms have smart TVs and free WiFi. They also have fresh coffee and tea, deep pile towels and hand made Bramley luxury natural bath and body products.
Tom Blake (formerly head chef at River Cottage) leads our kitchen team. The menu is fresh, simple, local and special. Working with some exceptional local suppliers, Tom’s aim is to demonstrate just how good West Country food can be. The kitchen team are in all day and producing snacks as well as 3 course meals. You can eat anywhere you like and there should be something available at all times of the day. Children are also very welcome and we do a small menu for them or can offer cut down versions off the main menu.
