Details

Recently refurbished and occupying an enviable riverside location just moments from the city centre, The Head of the River is one of the finest pubs and hotels in Oxford.

Promising some of the best pub food in Oxford, The Head of The River invites you to enjoy superb contemporary British dishes - and a few traditional classics - prepared and cooked fresh to order by Head Chef Thomas Berry and his team.

Main menus change with the seasons to make the most of the freshest ingredients around, and they are further complemented by an array of daily specials and chef’s speciality dishes.

Founded on Fuller’s history and heritage, The Head of The River naturally provides an exceptional collection of real ales, with London Pride, HSB and Oliver’s Island among their cask range. They are joined on the bar by premium international imports like Peroni, Amstel and Sierra Nevada, plus a rotating range of brilliant craft beers from the world’s best producers.

Away from beer, they also offer an extensive gin list with specifically matched tonics and garnishes, and a select choice of some of the world’s best whiskeys. Or, you can unwind with one of their sublime wines, which include some beautiful bubbles for celebrating those special occasions!

Following recent refurbishment, The Head of The River now has 20 beautiful bespoke rooms, providing wonderful waterside accommodation in Oxford. Promising a relaxing stay in the city, the stylish bedrooms are supremely comfortable, elegantly designed and appointed with a host of modern luxuries - and of course, you’ll wake up to a fabulous breakfast every morning.
