Built in the 16th century as a coaching house and restored in 1874. Our stables have been renovated into cottages boasting charming, original features while our rooms offer truly impressive views over Coquetdale and Simonside.

With a strong network of local suppliers and producers, our chef has developed a menu to cater for all palettes and budgets. Download our menu from the link on the right to sneak a peek at what's cooking at The Turks Head, Rothbury. Our menu caters for the little people in your life who will enjoy our extensive, landscaped garden. So pack the kids and dogs into the car and head over to Rothbury.

Whatever your tipple, we're sure we can tempt you with a choice of cask ales, lagers, wines, pure vodkas, crisp gins, malt whiskies, classic cocktails or even a soft drink or warm beverage.

As a grade II listed building with olde-worlde Northumbrian hospitality, our original features and real, coal fires will charm as you enjoy your pint with the friendly locals. Quietly set at the rear of the building, our beer garden is far enough away from the main road to ensure there's barely a whisper of traffic to be heard.

The Turks Head is set in the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty and more castles than any county in England, it hardly seems fair that we are also within a 20 minute journey of the stunning Northumbrian coast.
