The Cross Keys Inn is a small village pub in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds offering cask ales, homemade food and accommodation in a quiet and very rural setting.
Steve and Mary welcome you to our single room village pub serving two cask ales and Tetley cask ( ours IS good ) as well as Carlsberg,Thatchers Gold and Marston's Oyster Stout. There is an open fire in season and no jukebox,T.V.,pool table or gaming machines to drown out the Crack...which is also the nickname for Thixendale !
We serve a selection of homemade dishes some of which are suitable for diners with special dietary requirements and we are always available to discuss any specific requests for future visits.
There are three first floor guest rooms-1 double and 2 twins-in the converted stable block at the back of the pub and there is also a boot room on the ground floor to dry and air steamy walking/riding gear ! Shaver point and hair dryer in each room and iron and board also available.Access to landline phone available.
Thixendale is ideally situated for the coast ,moors and history, but the Wolds is the hidden gem in the middle with the stunning scenery to more than hold it's own with its better known neighbours.
On arrival guests may access rooms from 3.00pm until about 10.00pm - any later and we will send out the St.Bernard ! If we are not open there is a bell at the rear of the pub. We ask that guests vacate their rooms by 10.00am. Breakfast is discussed the evening before - we are very flexible about breakfast time but no later than 9.00am.
We also offer packed lunches and luggage transfers.
