Enjoy delicious home-cooked, locally-sourced food, a great selection of beer, wine and spirits and a peaceful stay in this beautiful country inn that dates back to the 15th Century.

The Lion is a place you can walk into on your own or come with friends and family for coffee, bar snacks, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner, stay the night or the week and know that you will receive a warm welcome and be well looked after.

Dining at The Lion Inn is a relaxed affair with deliciously tempting food, an imaginative wine list and friendly staff. The chefs source seasonal ingredients from the best suppliers in the area and the menus are based on what is fresh & available and change frequently.

The bedrooms have their own individual character including a converted hayloft, two with their own stone stairway and one with a vintage mural of Mickey Mouse.

They’re passionate about the little things; simple and stylish décor, power showers, comfortable beds, fresh flowers, natural products and high-quality linen. Rooms are clutter-free which means they don’t have televisions (by popular request) and hope guests will join them in the bar and restaurant.

All bedrooms have Bramley toiletries for guests to use during their stay. The range contains the highest grade pure essential oils, 100% natural botanicals and rich cocoa and shea butters. Tea and coffee are provided as a complimentary service to the rooms, a quick buzz to reception and they will be brought to you.

The Lion Inn are proud to be part of The Epicurean Collection, a group of boutique countryside inns dedicated to the finest in British food, comfort and culture — all set in some of England's most idyllic locations.
