The Kings Arms is a charming 500-year-old former coaching inn, built from Cotswold stone and situated on the corner of Stow-on-the-Wold’s historic Market Square.
The rooms at the Kings Arms are all stylishly decorated in contemporary Cotswold country style with modern en-suite bathrooms. Each has a TV, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities.
The main building accommodates seven en-suite bedrooms, some with a steep climb up the original staircase which is rewarded with a view out across Market Square. The three split-level ‘stable’ rooms are in the courtyard on the site of the original coaching inn stables. These have a sitting room, TV, hot drink making facilities and en-suite bathroom downstairs, and a bedroom upstairs.
The Kings Arms welcomes children. If you’d like to bring your dog, it’s essential that you arrange this with us in advance (by calling us direct) due to room allocation.
We pride ourselves on the use of local produce to create traditional dishes, and our menus change regularly to make the most of seasonal produce. We source our meat from award-winning local butchers Lambournes of Stow-on-the-Wold, who were featured on BBC’s Countryfile. So if you love the meat we serve, you can always pop along and buy your own to cook at home! We also serve traditionally-baked local artisan breads, as well as a wide variety of game when in season.
Blending cosy Cotswold style with warm, contemporary colours and quirky vintage touches, the Kings Arms bar has many traditional features and a warm smile always awaits.
Local characters swap stories over a pint, and drinkers and diners sit side-by-side soaking up the fun and friendly atmosphere. Many an hour is lost here when intriguing tales of the hotel ghosts are told around the comforting log burner as the Stow mist descends upon another fun-filled night at The Kings.
