Details

The Swan is a delightful, privately owned Freehouse and a destination food pub as well as being a traditional village local at the centre of the community and popular with all generations.

The Swan is a destination food pub as well as being a traditional village local at the centre of the community and popular with all generations. Dating from the 15th century The Swan retains a wealth of original features with a heavily oak-beamed lounge bar and large inglenook fireplace.

Equal pride is taken in the cellar at The Swan and you will find particularly well-kept quality real ales (Adnams Bitter and a host of constantly changing guest ales including Woodforde’s Wherry, Timothy Taylors Landlord, Fullers London Pride, Nethergate Suffolk County to name a few).

Upstairs, there are four superbly appointed bedrooms for guests. All are individually furnished and have private en-suite facilities. The accompaniments and furnishings you will find in the rooms really do take The Swan into the luxury bracket; seriously rivalling the boxy, impersonal and overpriced chain hotels at nearby Stansted, and the breakfasts are frankly marvellous with homemade marmalade and jam served with freshly baked croissants.

All rooms are equipped with colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, homemade shortbread and a decanter of port. Iron and ironing board are available on request and there is a trouser press for guests’ use.

Restaurant/Food served:
Mon-Sat 12-2pm and 7-9pm
Sunday 12-2pm only
