Details

Set in the village of Ticehurst, The Bell Inn is a former 16th century coaching inn that is now a quirky pub with seven bedrooms that are full of character and charm.

Warming, comfortable and with a hint of quirk, our bar is the kind of place where long evenings begin. Where the end is never certain. We could talk about wine and beer until the cows come home which, as you know, is about dark o’clock around here.

There’s something so satisfying about matching the right moment to the right drink, or complementing a great meal with the perfect liquid accompaniment. What’s better than meeting people, telling tales and making memories over food and a glass of something? Not much. As you might expect our cellar is a mix of the simply outstanding and the occasionally surprising, in the best way. Then there‘s the much talked about secret smugglers’ tunnel to St Mary’s church, apparently.

Zzzzzz’s are fundamentally boring.

Which is why there’s a story to each of our seven bedrooms, as well as a handmade mattress by Somnus, master bedmakers since 1840.  Oh, and did we mention that every room has a silver birch tree?

We now have three extraordinary lodges and one Love Nest set in their own gardens around a giant fire pit.

All our rooms feature:

- Kingsize or superking size beds with handmade Somnus mattresses
(Moon Wild and Hush of the Trees can be booked as superking or twin beds)
- Freeview flat screen tv
- Apple tv
- En-suite bathrooms
- Telephone
- Luxury “Love and More” toiletries
- Hairdryer
- Choice of pillows
- Complimentary wifi
