Details

Set in the charming historic town of Bampton, The Swan offers traditional pub food, fine wines, real ales, and 3 beautifully appointed en-suite guest bedrooms.

The Swan, being the oldest pub in Bampton, was originally lodgings to accommodate the masons and other craftsmen who were hired to enlarge the church in 1450. St Michaels church can be seen from the terrace just behind the pub.

The pub has recently been renovated to a high standard with a solid oak bar giving it a contemporary yet traditional feel. The Swan has kept the original fireplace and bread oven dating back to 1450.

With Steve overseeing the front of house, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, serving traditional pub food, fine wines and real ales all at affordable prices.

On Sundays you can order a roast of locally produced meat from the Hill's farm or if you don’t fancy that you can choose something from the Sunday lunch menu. We have well-kept real ale on the hand pumps with guest ales and a keen selection of wines from around the world to suit all tastes.

All of our rooms are located on the top floor of this fabulous old building. With spacious, comfortable rooms you'll find all the quirky character you'd expect from a town house. They're perfect for that weekend break or business stop over - renovated and decorated by our local craftsman; all three rooms include an ensuite, WiFi, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary toiletry products for a relaxing stay. For breakfast we offer full English made with fresh, local produce or there is always a selection of cereals and lighter options available.

Paul and Donna look forward to welcoming you to The Swan…
