The Bear Inn and Hotel in Alderwasley, Belper, is set in an idyllic part of the Derbyshire countryside and offers fantastic accommodation, food, drink and an excellent atmosphere.

The Inn, which dates back to 1528, is bursting with character and The Bear’s staff will always make you feel welcome and at home. We serve an array of wines, spirits and beers including locally brewed ales to give you a real taste of Derbyshire.

Over the years we have built up a strong reputation for the food we produce at the Bear and we always use locally sourced produce to ensure the highest quality and freshest food possible. Our daily menu is filled with in-season delights to suit any appetite which you can enjoy throughout the day. We also offer a Sunday Carvery which people travel from near and far to experience.

Our Hotel offers 8 individual bedrooms, all with en-suite as well as two fully equipped holiday cottages to help make your stay with us memorable and relaxing. Set in the Derbyshire countryside, The Bear is ideally located for long walks in our stunning surroundings and you can finish the day off with a drink and a delicious meal in our restaurant.

As well as our lovely hotel rooms, The Bear Inn and Hotel boasts two self catering cottages over looking the Derbyshire Dales. Both cottages benefit from a double bedroom, bathroom, sitting room with sofa bed and a kitchenette – if you are able to resist the delicious food at The Bear.

The cottages also have their own patio areas ideal for dining outside or enjoying a peaceful drink whilst enjoying the views making our holiday cottages the perfect choice for your country get away or family holiday.
