Ruthin, a small town of just 5,000 inhabitants, is nestled in the Vale of Clwyd, in north Wales. The town is the perfect location from which to explore the north Wales coast and the Snowdonia National Park – both of which are within 18 miles’ drive – as well as for touring northeast Wales and the north Wales borders.
The countryside has a breath-taking natural beauty, with a diversity of vistas, from dramatic mountains, rolling hill tops and winding river valleys to stunning coastlines. Such diversity brings a range of leisure opportunities, including walking, fishing and golf, as well as more active sports or you can simply take in the array of historic sites. The town itself boats a 13th-century castle, built under the instruction of Edward I.
