The Fox and Hounds is a traditional Lakeland Inn located in the beautiful Lakeland Valley of Ennerdale approx 1.5 from Ennerdale lake.
The pub is situated in the centre of the village opposite the church and over one of three small bridges.
It has three comfortable spacious en-suite bedrooms, a large secluded beer garden and a cosy bar with two welcoming log fires. The pub has an excellent selection of local ales and offers hearty traditional pub food cooked on the premises from locally sourced ingredients.
In addition to the Standard Menu the pub also serves Daily Specials, prepared from ingredients relevant to the seasons. There are always a number of vegetarian options available and if you have a specific dietary requirement please let the pub know in advance of your arrival.
The pub has a comprehensive selection of ales, wines and spirits, and they are particularly proud of their selection of local beers. They have a range of up to five Camra quality real ales available, all sourced from West Cumbria brewers and their most popular beers are supplied by the local Artisan brewery imaginatively named Ennerdale Brewery situated approx 2 miles from the front door.
Why not try a glass of their best seller Ennerdale Blonde an easy drinking light hoppy beer a favorite with local walkers and cyclists. On a hot day often mixed with cloudy ginger beer to create a traditional Lakeland shandy.
As the first stop on Wainwrights famous coast to coast walk the pub welcomes walkers and cyclists and are very family friendly. Dogs are welcome, including in the bedrooms if you are staying the night.
