The Britannia Inn is nestled in the breathtaking Langdale Valley at the heart of the English Lake District. Pub accommodation at the Britannia Inn is comfortable and clean, with scenic views and delicious rustic seasonal pub dining, serving breakfast, lunch and supper. They have two individual bar areas for day visitors and comfortable rooms for tired travellers.

Make the most of the pub's open fire and cosy nooks during those long Lake District winter evenings, and spill out into the garden for some stunning alfresco dining under the summer sun. The Britannia Inn really is a pub for all seasons.

Pop in for a pint of real ale and a quick lunch, or stay for a few days and enjoy their outstanding Elterwater location. As a Lake District pub offering accommodation, their hospitality is second-to-none.

Whatever the weather outside, you can be guaranteed of a warm welcome and a comfy bed at The Britannia Inn. The bedrooms of their Lake District Inn have been tastefully renovated to enhance the charm of this old building and the subtle palette and comfortable furnishings create a warm and cosy retreat at the end of the day. We have a selection of double and twin rooms which all offer either a private bathroom or en-suite facilities.

Visitors can enjoy a full Britannia breakfast in the restaurant before blowing away the cobwebs in the spectacular Langdale Valley, one of the most picturesque areas of the Lake District. Pub accommodation at it's very best! They welcome dogs to stay in the rooms. They are free of charge, just not allowed on the bed.

At The Britannia they offer fresh, rustic and seasonal pub dining with daily changing specials and a separate lunch and dinner menu. Typical dishes on the menu home made Cumberland pate with Port Sauce, or home breaded Somerset Brie in crisp thyme trumb. For Main course tuck into grilled fresh Sea Bass fillet or Plumgarths of Kendal 8oz Cumberland Sausage, or for the real taste of the Lake District the slowly braised minted South Lakes Lamb Henry. For those with a sweet tooth treats include Britannia Brulee or Home made Sticky Toffee Pudding with hot toffee sauce.
