The Rashleigh, ideally positioned in central Cornwall, provides an excellent jump off point for great attractions with the world famous Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan nearby.
The Rashleigh Arms was built in 1851 on the foundations of old clay cellars and was given its name after the creator of Charlestown Harbour, formerly West Polmear, Charles Rashleigh. It also boasts probably one of the only Grade II listed car parks in the country, basically the site of old coal storage yards, and is situated in a World Heritage Site.
The Pub has moved with times and although over 150 years old boasts eight four star gold rated rooms, a public bar, popular with the locals that shows all live sport and has great bands every fortnight. The lounge bar is fantastic for relaxing in with large leather sofas and armchairs with a touch of historic Charlestown. The restaurant is modern, open plan and serves locally sourced food from 12 - 9pm every day; and if the weather's good our patio and garden is the ideal place to spend a few hours or more!
The menu is updated on a monthly basis to reflect the change in seasons and to make the best use of what resources are on offer to them. In addition, they serve a core menu of 'Pub Classics' and signature dishes, so if you know what you like, your favourite is likely to be there. The specials board is updated daily, but be quick if you see something you like. It may sell out quickly.
The Sunday Carvery is very popular and they take bookings for 12pm, 2.00pm and 6pm, the Pork is from Etheringtons butchers, sourced from farms in Cornwall, and often fishermen will supply them with fish straight from the quay. The sausages are made specially by Kernow sausage company and the Cheeses are handmade by Cornish producers. All of the food and drink suppliers are based in Cornwall.
At the Rashleigh they have eight guest bedrooms, all located in the wonderful 150 year old pub and each with its own character. If you want a branded mass-market hotel this is not it; if you want a 4 Star Gold Visit Britain Inn with a warm welcome and a personal touch, you have found the right place. All the rooms are en-suite and some have baths.
All rooms are maintained to a high standard and some have views towards the sea and the Tall Ships in Charlestown Harbour. Please note all the rooms are non-smoking and we regret we cannot accept pets in the bedrooms
