The 16th century Swan has been welcoming guests for over 400 years. Today, their comfortable rooms and welcoming bar and dining areas mean that The Swan continues to be a haven for visitors.

Take a seat and relax in one of the two bar areas as their friendly staff serve you a glass of your favourite tipple, whether a crisp Sauvignon or a cold pint of local ale. Those who find themselves in need of a quick bite can enjoy a tankard of chef’s finest pork crackling or one of their renowned giant scotch eggs. If you prefer a more leisurely experience, take a seat in one of the many nooks and crannies and enjoy a meal from the daily seasonal menu. Great food means using the best ingredients. The team at The Swan have created a seasonal menu featuring the very best British dishes with the occasional European twist, showcasing their relationships with local farms and producers.

They’re passionate about pulling the perfect pint, from presentation to the quality of the beer. The draught ales are complemented by international bottled beers and, staying true to their coaching inn past, the local guest ales are some of the best in the country. They have Hophouse & Estrella on tap throughout the year and recurring guest ales include Eastgate, Cheshire Cat and Weetwood Best, with the award-winning Weetwood Brewery just three miles down the road!

From classic French to New World, they have a selection of red, white, rose and sparkling wines available to order by the bottle or by the glass. The spirits selection covers the classics, as well as some less common tipples. There are the usual suspects; gins, malt whiskies and brandies, to name a few, but they also have a soft spot for the lesser known flavours.

As a former coaching house, a warm welcome and hospitable surroundings have been found at The Swan for over 400 years. Their individually designed en-suite bedrooms offer guests all they need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. As a nod to the past, six of the sixteen rooms are located in the recently converted Coaching House, situated in the courtyard. They have a selection of double, twin and single rooms, as well as spacious family rooms and suites and one of the ground floor rooms is also dog friendly. All overnight rates are per day and include a traditional cooked and continental breakfast, complimentary WiFi, and free overnight parking in their secure car park.

Enjoy some of Cheshire's many attractions, from family-friendly adventures and romantic walks, to golf courses on par with some of the best in the UK. Located just 10 miles from Chester and its bustling streets, yet quietly tucked away in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, The Swan is the perfect place to stay if you’re visiting one of Cheshire’s many beauty spots, attractions or events.
