Welcome to The Lion at Buckden, Cambridgeshire, one of the oldest coaching inns in England. Dating back to 1492, they continue to retain much of the wonderful charm, character and atmosphere.

Whether you are looking for a quiet drink with friends, a Sunday lunch with the family or a place to rest weary legs they would be delighted to see you. You can rest assured your time at The Lion, however long, will be very enjoyable.

Located in the heart of Cambridgeshire, Buckden is a small village just off the A1 giving you excellent access to London and The North not to mention all the local places of interest including the historic Buckden Towers. In addition The Lion has 14 bedrooms, three of which have traditional four poster beds for that extra special atmosphere.

The Lion can cater for a range of special occasions and events such as anniversaries, birthdays, christenings, small weddings and larger functions. All events can be tailor made to meet your requirements to make your day as special as possible.

The function menus change with the seasons to ensure they use only the very best quality, fresh ingredients. See their sample menus for a taste of what they can offer you.

If you are dining or staying with them, they recommend a reservation however this is not a requirement so please feel free to drop in at any time for a bite to eat, a place to stay or just a refreshing drink.
