Much loved and steeped in history, The Chequers Inn, a 17th century coaching-inn, has recently undergone a transformation, bringing together a fantastical blend of the old and the new.
It is idyllically tucked away in the beautiful Chilterns and is only 24 miles outside of London. It is close to both High Wycombe and Beaconsfield and is also ideally situated near the Thameside towns of Windsor, Henley and Marlow.
With its oak beams and flagstone floors, The Chequers Inn is a comfortable blend of old and new and has been owned and run by the same family for over 40 years ensuring a friendly, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
With a number of places to dine, from the outside dining area in summer, to the cosy fireplace in winter, the inn still retains some of its original characteristics. The restaurant has been updated into a brasserie style, with floor to ceiling windows bringing a more spacious and bright atmosphere. The bar, still featuring the traditional open fireplace, has a full makeover with new decor and furniture, all in an aqua and taupe colour scheme. The menus delivers a traditional British-Continental a la carte menu
The opulent decor is a mix of warm tones and modern touches with the charm and style of The Chequers Inn. There is a relaxed ambiance of understated elegance, which is ideal for either a quick business lunch or a long romantic dinner.
The eleven stunning new en-suite guest bedrooms and suites are contemporary, yet blend with the traditional features of the original coaching inn. The rooms overlook the spectacular Chilten countryside. This meeting of tranquil and rustic themes is then carried though the existing nineteen individually styled bedrooms and suites, increasing the total room count to thirty.
In this lighter and brighter update you can now also enjoy the conference suite which accommodates up to 50 people, with an inclusive breakout area and refreshments tailored to your requirements. The hotel is also a great setting for locations and often plays host to wedding receptions and parties.
