The 18-hole par 71 course is 6393 yards long and has a fine layout - having been designed by American course architect Bradford Benz to make the most of the natural contours of the valley in which it lies. The course is built on a chalk-base which provides excellent drainage and this, together with the USGA specification greens, results in a great combination allowing all year round play.
The course gets off to a gentle start with an inviting elevated tee shot from the first. The second, a super par 3 also offers an elevated shot but beware of the strategically placed bunkers around the green. Players will decide for themselves their favourite holes but perhaps for the sheer beauty of it, the 4th and 7th at the far end of the course in the bowl of the valley will take some beating. The unusual double 9th and 18th greens that play out in front of the clubhouse make for some interesting gallery viewing. The 10th hole has been completely re-designed and is now one of the strongest par 4's on the course. With an unusual par 3,5,3,5 finish, amongst which the stunning view high up on the 17th tee will entice you to linger longer than perhaps you should, Woldingham is undeniably one of the most attractive courses that you can play in Surrey all year round.
The stately clubhouse, in the style of a country mansion, houses a comfortable spike bar with patio area, spacious changing facilities, pro-shop and elegant function suite with balcony areas. Wherever you look, there are lovely views of the course and surrounding countryside, offering golfers a superb panoramic snapshot of the golf to come.
