Tavistock Farmers' Market is a treasure trove of fresh, local food, drink and plants direct from the producer. We work hard to ensure our customers have access to a wide range of quality produce and are always delighted to receive your feedback. We are the environmentally friendly way to shop, offering low food miles, and you know that everything you spend with us directly benefits the local economy. We are the perfect choice for anyone with special dietary requirements because you can speak directly to the person who made the product and check what they put in it.
The market takes place in Bedford Square, Tavistock, PL19 0AU on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Saturdays of each month, from 9.00am to 3pm in summer and until 1pm in winter. We arrange a programme of events throughout the year to entertain and educate - see our Market Calendar and photo gallery for details. To keep up to date with our events and seasonal produce, sign up to our newsletter, 'Like' us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter or sign up to our newletter (email us using the contact page).
We have recently received requests from customers for more gluten free produce and now have several stallholders offering food that is prepared in dedicated gluten free kitchens but that are so delicious everyone can enjoy them.
Our constant efforts to improve have been rewarded recently. We received a 'Gold' Award from Taste of the West 2016 for the second year running and are currently Devon Life's 'Best Farmers' Market'.
Everything you find on sale is produced within the local area, and our stallholders are the farmers, growers or producers themselves. All products sold have been grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders. Please feel free to browse, taste and ask us questions. We are passionate about what we do and love to talk about it!
We feature both regular and guest producers who work tirelessly to bring you the best local produce. See our Stallholder page to find out which producers are currently with us and which markets they attend. We only cancel the market in the worst storm conditions so please come to support us whatever the weather - we're a great day out even in the rain! Being in the heart of the bustling historic market town means that we are a short walk away from everything else that the town has to offer - see our Links page for more things to do in and around Tavistock.
There are excellent bus and cycle links to Tavistock from the surrounding areas and you can park all day for £2 at most of the Council's car parks.
